It bugs the shit out of me that they won’t just let Lea go, and I don’t think she’ll ever choose to leave. I get the feeling that she feels as if she owes Ryan Murphy and the rest of the creators for giving her such a brilliant break out role into Hollywood (like it or not it’s due to them that she had the opportunity to gain so much popularity). Her success is due to nothing but her own incredible talent, but she has said before that when she first started auditioning for TV she had trouble getting cast, and now because of the overwhelming success that the show had orginally she has made a very deep impression in the industry.

She gives so much of herself to that show. If you ever see the footage of the last performance in their 2011 concert tour it’s almost alarming how exhausted she appears to be by the end of STL. About half of that set list had her as the lead singer, she had two solos. There were about 13 of them being featured, but any of the others could get sick and they could still do most of the set list, but if she got sick and couldn’t perform I think they would have had to cancel the show.

It doesn’t matter how ridiculous the storylines they give her are, she will do her absolute best to make them come across as genuine as she can. She would never do anything as disrespectful as Katherine Heigl and come out and say that the material she recieves isn’t deserving of sort of nominations, but I almost wish she would.

I think that writing staff takes advantage of her and they take her for granted. They gave Chris that wonderful storyline in S2 the earned him a well deserved GG, and she hasn’t been given material that is anywhere close to that level. She is by far the most talented person on that show and they just ignore her and keep her tethered to the sinking ship that is currently glee.
